Elkhorn Country Club Estates
Elkhorn Country Club Estates is the result of
our vision to offer exceptionally unique properties, the kind
that traditionally haven't been built outside the realm of
custom homes in the greater Central Valley. Years of unique
challenges and painstaking planning have now led to what we
consider one of the premier communities in the area.
Our diverse homes range from 2,930 to 4,822
square feet with exteriors and landscaping reflecting an exotic,
Mediterranean influence. An incredible interior selections list
awaits your design ideas, as do beautiful standard amenities and
generous lot sizes. A putting green, cabana, sport court
basketball area and pool will be available to all residents..
We also offer select homes along picturesque Elkhorn Golf
Course, all this in a secluded yet convenient gated neighborhood where
homes are definitely deserving of the title "estate".
Short History of Stone Homes
Stone Homes is a family owned and run business
with deep roots in the Stockton area. Currently, Stone Homes is
in its third generation of building quality homes with an
emphasis on fitting the needs of your family. The Stone
tradition of building quality homes began in 1948 when Merrill
Stone started building homes. He also developed a strong
reputation with commercial construction while partnered with
Stone Bros., specifically the Sherwood Mall, Sherwood Corners,
Sherwood Executive Center, and many apartment complexes.
Merrill’s oldest son Gary started working
for his father at age 12 and in 1965 started working for a major
builder in the Bay Area, managing construction on numerous
projects. By 1973, Gary had started building on his own. In
North Stockton, he has built all of the Stonewood subdivisions
and has built in Spanos East and Spanos West, which have built
up a great reputation for quality and affordability. Along with
the thousands of homes that Gary has built, he also built
several other projects of interest, including several
electronics and communications warehouses for the Marines at
their top training facility in Twentynine Palms, CA. He has also
built a couple of churches and Ox-Bow Marina on the San Joaquin
River Delta. The projects that Gary has built give him a wide
range of experience, but of course, new home construction has
always been his forte.
Throughout the past few years, Stone Homes
has worked hard to assemble the best possible assortment of
subcontractors to perform the construction of our homes. Many of
these companies have returned to work for Stone Homes due to the
good relationships they have maintained with the Stone family
for many years. We feel it is very important to hire quality
workers and form strong bonds to ensure loyalty and a higher
level of quality in our construction. We are constantly striving
to improve and expand our capabilities and better serve those
whose houses we build, and we feel that moral character and
straight forth business is very important. We want to be able to
help families fulfill their dreams of owning a new home where
they can create many happy memories together.
A note of interest: Though the building
tradition stopped during one generation before Merrill Stone,
the Stone family tradition of building homes can actually be
traced as far back as 1886.
